Benefits of Membership

Joining The Champlain Society enables you to:

  • Participate in a community of diverse individuals dedicated to preserving and promoting Canada’s documentary heritage
  • Contribute to the publication of a major scholarly work of Canadian history approximately once a year
  • Collect finely typeset volumes with red buckram covers and spines well known for their gilt lettering and crest – each one an example of high-quality book production in Canada
  • Receive occasional papers contributing to the study of documentary editing
  • Attend the Annual General Meeting with guest speakers and presentation of the Chalmers Award

Membership fees

  • Individual Membership:$110.00 per year (all inclusive)
  • Student Membership: $55.00 per year (all inclusive)
  • Library Membership: $150.00 per year (all inclusive)
  • Lifetime Membership: $3,000.00 (all inclusive; this includes a charitable donation receipt for $2,890.00)

Membership fees include all taxes and annual book shipping costs. USA and International members please remit in US funds.
