Would Samuel de Champlain be proud? In honour of Bastille Day, the French national holiday, Franklin Park Zoo in Boston has named one of its new residents after Samuel de Champlain. Two rare breeds of donkeys, Poitou or Baudet du Poitou, have been named Samuel and Balthazar.
