Description: Turnor taught surveying to Samuel Hearne, and this volume contains the entire contents of four of his own surveying journals, as well as four others written while Turnor was trading in the Moose River region, 1782-87. Hearne's full journals from 1774 and 1775 relate his founding of Cumberland House on the Saskatchewan River. Other journals from the Hudson's Bay Company archives that appear in whole or in part are by Peter Fidler, Malcolm Ross, Joseph Smith, and Mathew Cocking.
